Overview

Our STCW Basic programs are offered on a rolling intake with flexible start dates and we can offer each module on an as required basis for as little as one person so please phone to find a date and range of options that suit you.
Accommodation, Evening meal and breakfast are available at our student hostel at a daily rate of $37.50 gst inc ($300.00 for the 9 days) All our programs are Maritime New Zealand approved and so meet requirements for ancillary tickets and renewals as outlined in the following statement.

“New Zealand STCW certificates are issued in accordance with the requirements of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers in 1978 as amended (STCW)”

Entry requirements

Before any practical training in the short courses Proficiency in Personal Survival Techniques and Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting a medical questionnaire will be conducted on arrival and before training starts and if any issues are identified you will be required at your cost to gain a medical certificate to take part in training or you can supply a current MNZ medical certificate.

Course Information

An extra change of clothes (To be worn in the swimming pool) and towel for the practical session of the survival course. Overalls are supplied for firefighting, but clothes may smell of smoke so again please have some older clothing and be aware of this.
Sturdy shoes are required for the fire fighting and flare practical. (i.e) solid enclosed shoes. No sandals or jandals.
