Course Objectives

On completion, students will be able to
  • Identify official sources of marine weather, broadcasts and schedules
  • Understand how to operate marine weather equipment
  • Understand how local wind and sea conditions can affect the forecast
  • Understand how to interpret meteorological maps
  • Understand how to predict weather patterns

Course Overview

This course is designed to guide you through the essential theoretical knowledge and prepare you for the written assessment component, equipping you with the skills to interpret and apply meteorological information for the Skippers Coastal Offshore  and Skipper Restricted Limits programme.

Assessment

This course includes an online exam which will be marked by WDSFS and on successful completion  contribute towards your assessment for the Skipper Coastal Offshore  or Skippers Restricted Limits qualification.
